The Company is the largest gas-fired power supplier in Beijing and operates seven CHP plants in the city. By December 31, 2016, the installed capacity for gas-fired thermal power had reached 4,436MW, accounting for 56.94% of the total installed capacity and 74.1% of the total power output. By installed capacity, the Company has a market share of about 50% in the gas-fired power market of Beijing and more than 60% in the centralized heating market, reflecting its dominance in the two fields in Beijing.
Among the seven CHP plants, six are now in operation, namely, Beijing Sun House Gas-fired Thermal Power Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingqiao Thermal Power Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingfeng Gas-fired Power Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingneng Gaoantun Gas-fired Thermal Power Co., Ltd., Beijing Jiangxi Gas-fired Thermal Power Co., Ltd. and Beijing Jingneng Gas-fired Thermal Power Co., Ltd.; one is under construction, i.e., Beijing Shangzhuang Gas-fired Thermal Power Co., Ltd.
As Beijing and Zhangjiakou are preparing for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, the Company is also planning heating projects in Zhangjiakou, Yanqing and Huailai to support the “low-carbon Olympics" concept.
